The Ronseal Ultra Tough Hardglaze Internal Clear Gloss Varnish (250ml) is an ultra-tough polyurethane varnish designed to provide a rich, clear, and mellow finish to interior wood surfaces. Ideal for use over wood dyes, this varnish offers exceptional protection against scratches, water, heat, and household chemicals, making it perfect for frequently used wooden furniture and trim.

Compatibility and accessories

Suitable for interior wooden furniture, doors, shelving, skirting boards, cork, hardboard, and chipboard

Best applied on bare or previously treated wood surfaces

Installation

Ensure the room is warm and well-ventilated before application

Prepare the wood surface by removing wax, oil, and grease with white spirit and sanding with 120 grit sandpaper

Stir the varnish thoroughly before use

Apply with a brush in the direction of the grain

Allow six hours to dry between coats; apply two coats for optimal protection

Sand lightly and clean dust before applying the final coat for a smooth finish

Usage

Apply in a well-ventilated area

Use a brush to apply the varnish evenly in the direction of the wood grain

Allow sufficient drying time between coats

For repairs, sand the damaged area and reapply the varnish with three coats for best results

Other information

Clean brushes with white spirit after use

Ensure proper disposal of leftover varnish and containers according to local regulations

if you are looking for a hard lasting varnish this is the one you need. I sanded down my work top and applied several coats of this varnish, you have to be patient and let the varnish dry before applying a 2nd coat. It is well worth the wait this is the 4th tin I have bought. love it.
