- opt for a stainless steel pool ladder, as it withstands the weather better and doesn't wear out as easily as a powder-coated steel ladder;
- ensure the ladder is suitable for the height of the above-ground pool;
- calculate its load capacity to ensure it can support 150 Kg or more;
- prefer modular and portable ladders for above-ground pools so they can be removed during the winter;
- secure access to the pool with ladders that have detachable steps to limit pool access to children.
For in-ground pool ladders, models with three or four steps, or more depending on the depth of the pool, are recommended. They are generally attached to the edges of pools in strategic places.
