The tiny sockets are made of simple plastic with no protection against the elements, just like the mode box which is made of low quality plastic (the button moves in all directions). I would not take the risk of putting them outside. These garlands are pretty, of course, but I would have liked them in a better quality because I wanted them for the outside.
