The Stormdry Masonry Absorption Test Kit is designed to assess the porosity and water absorption of masonry surfaces, helping professionals determine if a wall is suitable for treatment with Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream. This portable kit is essential for diagnosing penetrating damp caused by porous substrates, hidden cracks, or failing mortar beds. The kit includes four Stormdry Gauges (also known as Karsten or RILEM tubes), mastic adhesive, a water bottle with nozzle, a paintbrush, a 30ml sample tube of Stormdry Cream, graph paper and full instructions - all neatly housed in a branded carry case. These components allow surveyors to conduct repeatable, standardised absorption tests directly on site. Each gauge measures water absorption under pressure conditions equivalent to 98 mph wind-driven rain. This enables reliable simulation of severe weather to identify vulnerable areas in brick, block, stone, or mortar. The included cream sample can also be tested on a small section of wall to confirm surface compatibility before treatment. Use of this kit ensures walls meet the required absorbency for effective Stormdry application, reducing the risk of ineffective treatment or future water ingress.
