Unstable, and very poor quality joints! I had bought these adjustable supports for stair railings and I found it good that they could be oriented to follow the slope of the stairs. But there is play in the joint, even tightened fully it wobbles back and forth, the railing moves and we had to stabilize it by fixing wooden cubes between the railing and the wall. I absolutely do not recommend!
