Published on 18/01/2023, FranceThese gouges seem to me to be of good quality even if their small size requires use on soft wood for sculpting details and requires great care: the blade will obviously be very quickly damaged in the event of impact or use on dense wood. The variety is interesting: 12 different gouges for beginners is not bad. The sharpening stone is a plus even if not very suitable for certain profiles of gouge (I think that a purchase of a suitable stone is to be expected if the use is recurrent). Warning: Remember to sharpen the cutters well before use and regularly when using them in order to avoid accidents (the work is not done by force!) and to obtain optimal performance. Note that, when opened, protective varnish covers the blades. The wood of the handles is solid and the blades seem well sealed for the moment, to see in use. In summary, this item offers good value for money in my opinion. I would recommend it mainly for beginners working on soft woods or experienced practitioners of wood carving for specific work.
