The panic lock has been designed for premises open to the public and equipped with an emergency exit. This type of lock is therefore perfectly suitable for private or professional buildings, as well as administrative or commercial premises.

How to choose a good panic lock:
The panic bar should not protrude more than 10 cm from the door to avoid obstructing people’s passage. Also, the bar must be pushable by vulnerable individuals (such as disabled persons, the elderly, or children): its weight must therefore not exceed 8 kg.
The panic lock must resist violent movements and open very easily.
All these conditions are met by panic locks certified by the NF EN 1125, European safety standard.
Installing fire doors as a complement is of course ideal for having an optimal panic door.
From an aesthetic point of view, it's sure that there are better-looking options than a panic lock with a rod, bar, and the like! However, note that there are very compact and discreet "push bar" panic bars available in black, white, or silver. They blend easily into the decor.
