Plumb lines

The plumb line, just like the chisel, punch, and mason's trowel, is an integral part of a mason's essential tools. Also used by carpenters and mechanics, the plumb line serves to check the verticality of a structure like a wall or wallpaper seam and the horizontality of a surface like tiling. Consisting of a string with a weight attached to the end, this instrument comes in different types in the market. There are upholsterer plumb lines, consisting of a tube-shaped weight with a pointed cone-shaped tip. There are also flat plumb lines, known to be the most stable and precise for easily marking reference points during masonry work. Additionally, there are mason's plumb lines, composed of a string, a square marker, and a weighted weight. Their polymer-pierced frame allows them to be fixed without having to hold them against the wall. They attach quickly and easily to all vertical surfaces such as metal materials, thanks to their very powerful magnet.
