Anchors are necessary when drilling a wall to attach objects. In this operation, one must ensure that the anchors not only match the materials but also support the weights. However, there are certain types designed for any type of support, less restrictive, thus significantly reducing the parameters to consider.
With this kind of accessory, now we only need to think about the various ways to improve the reliability of the fastening. First, a good level of anchoring is required to avoid having the anchors tear out of the wall, taking the attached objects with them. In this regard, note that the longer the anchor, the stronger the fastening, and the greater its diameter. Thus, for heavy loads (+50 kg), a diameter greater than 10 mm is needed; for medium loads (20 to 50 kg), consider between 6 and 8 mm; and finally, for light loads (less than 20 kg), between 4 and 5 mm. Additionally, it is preferable to drill as deeply as possible if the weight to be supported at the anchoring point is intended to be significant. However, do not forget to add up the loads for the furniture. Furthermore, if the material is hard, provide a drilling diameter identical to the core of the anchor, whereas for softer walls, the hole is smaller than the latter (5 mm).
