The connectors commonly known as RJ45 (for Registered Jack 45) are actually designated 8P8C since they are connectors with 8 positions and 8 contacts. The applications for these types of connectors are increasingly common, not least for connecting a device to an Ethernet network. This has led manufacturers to offer complete RJ45 sockets for embedding.
A complete RJ45 socket is an element to be embedded in the same way as an electrical or telephone socket. It is used to connect devices to an Ethernet network to enable communication between them. This interconnection allows, among other things, the transfer of data from one device to another (data transfer, network printing, etc.), and to connect to the global Internet network via a modem and a router. Generally, the denser the network, the more cables will be used. The use of RJ45 sockets partly allows these cables to be hidden in the walls or floor. On the market, there are different models offered by Arnould, Legrand, or Schneider Electric, in white, stainless steel, or titanium finishes. Some sockets are recessed into skirting boards, walls, or the floor, others offer double connections, while some models provide the possibility to connect an electrical outlet in addition to the RJ45 connector. It is worth noting that since these are complete outlets, all these models are available with a finishing plate.
