Description

• DowSIL 784 Glazing Sealant is a one-part, silicone-based sealant designed for glazing applications. It adheres well to glass, aluminum, and other non-porous surfaces. The sealant contains a fungicide to prevent mold growth, making it suitable for areas with high humidity such as windows, bathrooms, and kitchens. It offers excellent weather resistance, including UV, ozone, and temperature extremes, with an application temperature range of +5°C to +40°C.

Installation

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from frost, old sealants, release agents, and contaminants. Clean and degrease surfaces with a suitable solvent such as DOWSIL™ R-40 Universal Cleaner.
• Apply the sealant evenly using a sealant gun. Tool the joint within 5 minutes of application to ensure proper adhesion.
• Clean excess uncured sealant with DOWSIL™ R-40 Universal Cleaner. For cured sealant on porous surfaces, remove mechanically by peeling or cutting, taking care not to damage surrounding surfaces.

Usage

• Apply to joints in windows, doors, and other glazing areas where weather sealing is required.
• Ensure proper surface preparation for optimal adhesion and durability.
