The ladders do indeed extend to 5m, they are however in my opinion dangerous. If your climbing them fully extended the bow/sag/bounce is very unnerving. The rungs are spaced too far apart (when descended your foot is searching for the next step). Finally there is no soft close feature (as advertised) so when you release to collapse the ladder it will damage anything inthe way.
