C.901 is an uplighter trough type cornice moulding which can be used to create background or "mood" lighting. This coving design is particularly popular with the restaurant & hotel trade. This coving should be at least 14 cm below the ceiling if lighting components are utilised. Choose the socket & lamp sets separately if mood lighting is required. If you are using this cornice as an uplighter a separate transformer is needed for every 2 metre section. These are readily available at electrical factors and should be installed by an approved NICEIC electrical contractor.
Orac Luxxus C901 coving has been a popular choice since 1999. The trough shaped profile features a panel mould style feature near it's base has been designed to reflect light off ceilings and create atmosphere to any room. The C.901 can be attractive if used without light fittings although in these cases it is usually placed flush to the ceiling. Almost our entire range is suitable for installation by a competent DIY enthusiast or general builder but the C901 should always be mechanically fixed if being used in an uplighter capacity and any electrical work must be by a registered and approved electrical contractor. Each 2 metre polyurethane profile comes with a base coat pre-applied and can be quickly decorated to suit your decor. You may hunt high and low for a comparable roduct but to no avail. Different designs and a variety of lighting options are available. Ideal for lounge coving and dining room coving.
The C901 coving or cornice is a classic large size design from the Orac Luxxus coving range. The coving profile is 15 x 12.5cm and has a diagonal of 19.5cm. The C901 coving has a convex curve with line detailing at the top and a foot at the base with further line detailing. This is a multi tasking coving which can be used against the ceiling or when placed lower down the wall as coving lighting. Otherwise known as indirect lighting or up lighting. A smaller version is the C902 indirect lighting coving and a larger version is the C900 indirect lighting coving (C900 coving is only available in rigid). The C901 classic coving is ideal for normal and larger size rooms with standard ceilings. Examples for installation can be as; entrance way coving hall coving living room coving dining room coving bedroom coving kitchen coving or as coving for flats or as apartment coving. A versatile coving size which offers a convex coving shape without being overtly decorative. The C901 coving also has as a matching flexible coving option C901F flexible coving. With curved walls and bays curved coving (or radius coving) is needed and this flexible coving is a unique solution. Curved coving for bays and curved walls previously needed to be made bespoke on site by specialist coving installation companies. Now where the coving needs to be curved use flexible coving. The flexible coving can match most curved wall shapes and does not even need a perfect continuous curve or radius. See our technical sheet for the maximum degree of flex for each of our flexible curved coving designs (below). The C901F flexible coving is manufactured using the same high definition steel moulds as the rigid C901 coving. This enables the C901 rigid coving and C901F flexible curved coving to be used in a room needing both straight coving and curved coving as the room shape dictates. Lighting can also be used in curved coving with the use of string lights or LED strips. Suggested mouldings to use with the C901 coving and C901F curved coving are the P9010 rigid dado rail and P9010F flexible dado rail and the SX118 skirting and SX118F flexible skirting and R40 ceiling rose.
