Description

General description

Coir pots are 100% biodegradable and made from natural coir fibre and latex. They have a high water holding capacity, promoting good drainage and aeration, making them an ideal eco-friendly alternative to plastic pots. Ethically produced and sourced, these pots are suitable for a variety of uses, including growing plants indoors and outdoors in gardens, nurseries, allotments, and greenhouses.

  • Installation

  • Dig a hole wide and deep enough to place the Coir Pot.
  • Fill the pot with Coco Peat or your preferred potting mix.
  • Water the pot thoroughly.
  • Sow your seeds or plants into the Coir Pots.
  • If growing seeds in colder weather, use a CoirProducts Mulch Mat to cover the pot for successful germination.
  • Once planted, the pot will begin to degrade in approximately 4-6 weeks.
  • Alternatively, you can place the filled Coir Pots above ground, where they will last a few seasons before biodegrading.

  • Ideal for growing a variety of plants.
  • Promotes air pruning, protecting plant roots.
  • Absorbs water well to keep plant roots moist while preventing flooding.
  • Adds texture to the soil as it degrades without altering soil composition.
