The process is relatively efficient but would require a higher compressor than the 1500W / 2CV one I have to work quickly. A needle block is actuated, and each needle strikes the bearing surface, with a short stroke of a few millimeters, but several times per second. Needles can squeeze into hard-to-reach corners with sanders or wire brushes. You can remove old paint and rust in the hollow of the ironwork, with a little patience. I have not tested it in mechanical descaling. The weight is correct, but the vibrations tire my wrist; Alternate with a metal brush mounted on a grinder to vary the forces and let the compressor cool. The noise is loud (protections mandatory), but the needles seem quite robust to me. A useful purchase to polish up an old ironwork preparation.

Received without 3/8 male connector, forced to disassemble one on another tool I owned. I find that a little tight on the part of the seller.

Effective, allows you to reach impossible corners, e.g. vehicle chassis before treatment. Good intermediate before sanding with a fixed sandblaster, no more large rust "catons" which clog the sandblasting gun.
