The material is just woven plastic ribbon ( like cheap tarpaulin material) .. it’s not waterproof, but it does defect the rain. My patio furniture was soaked first use.
It doesn’t come with a cord but does have eyelets you can thread one through. Some of the The eyelets were misformed during the insertion process and couldn’t be used. All in all a horrible product unfit for purpose.

Great product, didn't give it a 5 out of 5 as I thought it could do with some string or rope in the bottom to keep it tight as if the wind gets up it, it can fly off.
