Description
Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating is a durable, two-part, water-based epoxy resin coating designed for protecting floors and walls in areas exposed to moisture or chemical attack. Once applied, it forms a hardwearing, easily cleanable surface with resistance to oils, greases and light mechanical wear. It is ideal for use in kitchens, warehouses, light industrial units, storage areas and utility spaces. The low-odour formula makes it especially suitable for food preparation areas, breweries and other hygiene-sensitive environments where non-tainting is required.
The coating is supplied in 5 kg kits containing both the pigmented base resin and hardener components. When fully mixed, it provides coverage of up to 35 m2 per coat under optimal conditions. Two coats are recommended for standard applications. Working time is two hours once mixed, and all material must be applied immediately, as the compound cures rapidly and cannot be stored.
Drybase ECS can be applied with a brush or short-pile roller. The first coat should be applied by brush to ensure strong surface penetration, followed by a second coat once dry, typically after 18 to 24 hours. Each coat must be applied as a continuous film with no pooling. Full cure is achieved after 5 to 7 days at ambient temperatures. Application is recommended between 10 degrees C and 25 degrees C with ambient humidity below 85%. For best results, the substrate must be sound, dry, lightly keyed and free from surface contamination or laitance. Grit blasting is advised for optimal adhesion.
Drybase ECS is moisture- and chemical-resistant and can be used as a surface damp suppressant where required. Once cured, the coating forms a dense, vapour-resistant layer that helps reduce surface absorption while remaining tough under foot traffic.
