(£2.22/kg)

Product information

Description

This bundle contains 20 packs of Drybase Tanking Slurry (25kg) - application rates may vary. Drybase Tanking Slurry is a cementitious, ready-mixed waterproofing compound formulated for use on concrete and masonry surfaces subject to water ingress. Designed for both active and passive water pressure, it provides durable and reliable waterproofing for below-ground structures, basements, retaining walls and foundations. Once mixed with clean water and applied by brush, trowel or spray, the slurry hardens to form a seamless hydrophobic barrier. It bonds strongly to both horizontal and vertical surfaces and remains vapour-permeable after curing. The hardened coating resists frost, de-icing salts and carbonation, and has been tested to withstand up to 7 bar of water pressure. Drybase Tanking Slurry complies with EN 1504-3 and is approved for use in contact with drinking water. This versatile coating is supplied as a grey powder in 25 kg bags. It is mixed with 4.5 to 6 litres of water per bag using a mechanical mixer, giving approximately 45 minutes of working time at 20 degrees C. Two coats are recommended, with the second applied while the first remains damp. Application rates range from 3-4 kg/m2 for pressureless water, and 4-6 kg/m2 for pressurised conditions, depending on severity. Surface preparation is essential — substrates must be clean, sound and dampened prior to use, but free from standing water. Loose material, coatings and contamination must be removed, and cracks or joints repaired in advance. Drybase Tanking Slurry can be finished with render or coatings after a minimum cure time of four weeks. Where plastering is required, a rough cast of sand and cement should be applied to the final slurry coat at initial set, or a bonding agent may be used once the surface is fully cured. The product is suitable for interior or exterior application and can be spray-applied using specialist mortar spray equipment. During curing, surfaces should be kept moist for at least five days and protected from frost, drying winds and direct sunlight.
