Description
Dryshield Cream is a breathable, water-repellent primer formulated to protect decorative finishes from salt damage in damp-affected walls. As part of the Dryzone System, it is applied prior to Drygrip Adhesive to prevent salt migration from the substrate into plasterboard linings.
When used on masonry contaminated by rising damp, Dryshield Cream hydrophobes the surface while weakening the crystallisation strength of salt deposits. This keeps damaging salts at depth within the wall and away from internal finishes, allowing the structure to dry out without harming the decorative surface. Its breathable formulation supports long-term drying while resisting water ingress at the substrate level.
Dryshield penetrates deeply into porous materials such as brick, stone and mortar, forming a strong bond with the masonry. It is supplied in 1, 3 and 5 litre packs, with typical coverage of 3 to 4 m2 per litre depending on substrate roughness and porosity. Application is quick and simple: apply with a large soft brush, roller or spray. The surface must be clean, sound and free from dust. Once applied, the cream must be allowed to soak in for a minimum of 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours, before applying Drygrip Adhesive.
