I purchased this lamp as a more affordable alternative to a designer version I really like but couldn’t justify the cost of. Visually, it’s a lovely piece and does a good job of achieving that high-end look from a distance. However, the build quality is unfortunately quite disappointing. The lamp feels very flimsy overall, and the top globe makes it slightly top-heavy, so it doesn’t stand as securely as I’d expect. I’ve had to position it between the wall and sofa to keep it stable, and I’m even considering a wall anchor—which really shouldn’t be necessary for a floor lamp. I also wasn’t aware that it would arrive with a European plug, so I had to purchase an adaptor separately, which was a bit inconvenient. In terms of finish, the gold is slightly more yellow than expected—I would have preferred a more muted tone for a more premium feel. I’ve fitted a Philips Hue bulb for smart control, but it didn’t fit through the opening easily, so I had to partially dismantle the lamp to install it, which was a bit awkward. Overall, it looks great but lacks the sturdiness and quality you’d hope for. A decent budget option if appearance is your main priority, but be prepared for a few compromises.
