General description

The Ultimate DuoCut Kindling Axe Base is designed with DuoCut technology for use with manual drop weight log splitters, such as the Logosol Smart Splitter. It enables logs to be split from both ends, significantly increasing splitting efficiency and making it easier to split both regular and knotty logs. The DuoCut Kindling Axe Base also serves as a convenient kindling blade for safe and easy kindling preparation, offering a much safer alternative compared to traditional axes.

Installation

The USBB is straightforward to set up. Mount it on any suitable wood base, such as the one used for the Logosol Smart Splitter, using the four screws provided. When used with a drop weight log splitter, place the base washer and spacer tube over the log splitter mounting pole to prevent blade clashing.

Usage

To split dry logs, simply place the wood on the USBB and hit it with a mallet. It is essential to avoid splitting greenwood on this tool.

Could have been a bit long to splite wood into sticks but safer than using a hatchet

I bought this product primarily to make kindling. I purchase kiln dried logs online, delivered on a pallet. The pallet then becomes a source of kindling, but cutting it up, then chopping is tedious, especially if you see me with an axe! I have fixed this to a substantial Scots pine log. Its robust being a cast item and sharp. The cover is necessary when not in use. It has made kindling production a pleasure. It has also enabled me to reduce logs to kindling with ease when required. A far better product than many on offer and at a great price. Highly reccomended.
