The drive pinion is welded on its axis with a very large veil, which causes significant friction on the crown and premature wear of the assembly.

For the price I wasn't exactly expecting great things - but I wouldn't even risk pulling or lifting 200kg with this (and it's sold as having a capacity of over 500). Also, the rims of the roller aren't parallel, meaning it only takes up the cable over a tiny width after a certain point. The whole thing is really rickety as well - overall a disaster.

Product exactly what I was hoping for - robust, compact, two speeds, great price. Just one minor point: the packaging wasn't tough enough for a steel piece of kit - which had actually torn it in several places by the time it arrived. The plastic crank handle was also damaged. I re-glued the end of the handle and now it's all working fine.

This 1134kg manual winch that I just installed to get my boat out of the water and put it back on the trailer seems to me very good quality. It's even bigger than I expected !! Thank you Mano.
