    Brushcutter buying guide

Petrol and electric brushcutters are designed to cut back tall grass, brambles and undergrowth. Bladed brushcutters are more powerful and often carried like a backpack but can also be wheeled, self-propelled, or included as a 4-in-1 multitool. Electric strimmers are typically mains-powered and used to maintain small gardens.

Husqvarna is a Swedish company and one of the oldest in the world, founded in 1689! It was a royal musket factory, at a time when Sweden was pursuing a policy of expansion in the Baltic States. Its name comes from the town of Huskvarna, whose coat of arms was made up of rifles, which can be seen in the company's symbols. It was sold to Fredrik Ehrenpreus in 1757, and went on to manufacture weapons, then bicycles, motorbikes, household appliances, stoves, sewing machines and power tools when the Swedish crown reduced its arms orders. In 1918, Husqvarna invented the first lawnmower, in 1947 it designed the first chainsaws, and in 1969 it perfected them by creating the first anti-vibration system for chainsaws. In 1989, the 3120 XP became the most powerful chainsaw on the market. Finally, in 1995, the company launched the first solar-powered robotic lawnmower, but this did not stop Husqvarna from launching another model, the 330X, featuring the very latest technological equipment: GPS-assisted navigation, weather timer, automatic loading, etc. Husqvarna is also famous in sport for being a partner of the Swedish Hockey Club.
