Nicoll started out as a company specialising in materials for public works companies and building professionals.
It all began in 1956 when, with 3 employees, Jean Ollivier set up the company in Cholet, rue de la Caillère, to manufacture PVC pipe fittings, which would remain the core of Nicoll's expertise. 4 years later, the company was so successful that it already had 50 employees. By 1970, 10 years later, the company had 800 employees... Today, Nicoll is clearly part of the Cholet landscape, with its 3 factories in Cholet, Argenton-les-vallées and Frontonas. In 1983, the company set out to conquer Europe by establishing a presence in Belgium, followed by Greece...
In 1984, again through innovation, Nicoll produced the CLIC collar and the waterfall aerator valve. It also designed the Elite TI gutter. In 2008, it launched the FLUXO system: multi-layer pipes (a layer of aluminium sandwiched between two layers of PER) with press fittings, a major innovation for plumbers. The company has expertise in all aspects of plumbing, from pipes to clamps, joints and fittings. Nicoll has since joined the Aliaxis group, which generates two billion euros and employs 13,000 people.
Nicoll is also seeking to improve its environmental footprint and that of buildings' hydraulic systems, with its recycling processes and leak-proof tubes and fittings.
