I had an old (30 year old) Bosch hand planer,...
which was very unstable, the whole wrist wobbled and could hardly be controlled.
What has happened in these years is amazing!

In comparison to comparable cordless planers, the significantly higher rebate depth is particularly impressive.
Otherwise Makita typically very good price/performance ratio with corresponding weaknesses.
