The use of the plane allows for a regular surface and thus simplifies sanding work.
The Bosch electric plane, Dewalt or Makita remains a widely used tool in the professional world: it is very useful between the operations of wood cutting and finishing. It allows in particular to create grooves on different supports, including chamfers (the face of the wood that appears when an angle is cut). This type of process is used in the manufacturing of windows, to insert panes.
It is very simple to use: the only thing to do is to adjust the depth of cut. Start planing at one end of the piece by slightly lifting the heel of the tool. Guide the plane at a constant speed... And don't stop along the way, so as not to create a relief!
To better choose your plane, we have distinguished them into two main categories: one-handed planes and carpentry planes. The former are light and manageable, and suitable for working in difficult places. The latter are used with both hands, to plane hard woods thanks to their very powerful motor (more than 2000 watts) and their reinforced blades. It's important to ensure a good support and that the wood piece is well fixed underneath the plane on a flat surface.
