Unscrew the brake fluid reservoir and remove the tester's cap. Immerse the test probes in the brake fluid up to the plastic rim of the device.

To Check Fluid Quality

Press the button to turn on the device; the green LED will light up. Insert the tester into the reservoir for one second; the result of a successful test will then be displayed on the LEDs. To turn off the device, press the button again.

The tester will automatically switch off after approximately 15 seconds of inactivity.

Testing Tips:

The brake fluid tester pen uses variations in conductivity to determine the brake fluid level based on moisture. The LED clearly indicates the moisture level. High moisture content lowers the boiling point and impairs braking performance. Red indicates that the brake fluid should be replaced immediately, green indicates good condition, and yellow indicates acceptable condition but should be replaced soon.

1. Green LED on = Brake fluid water content (H2O): 1.5%, approved brake fluid

2. Yellow LED on = Brake fluid water content (H2O): 1.5% to 3%, usable, test new after six months

3. Red LED on = Brake fluid water content (H2O): 3%, unusable, brake fluid needs replacing. Red light: Brake fluid change

4. Flashing red light: Battery replacement

5. Yellow light: Low moisture, check for a new battery after six months

6. Green indicator: Brake fluid lines/cell series

Tester functions:

Tests DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5 brake fluid

Press the switch to turn on the device. The green indicator light illuminates when the battery is fully charged.

The green light goes out when the battery needs to be replaced.

Automatic Shutdown

Technical Parameters:

Green: Battery OK, meaning the brake fluid does not contain water.

Green/Yellow: Brake fluid containing less than 1% water improves performance and is easier to use.

Green/Yellow/Yellow: Brake fluid containing approximately 2% water can still be used.

Green/Yellow/Yellow/Red: Brake fluid containing approximately 3% water is recommended as a replacement.

Green/Yellow/Yellow/Red: Brake fluid containing at least 4% water must be replaced immediately. This is very dangerous.

Warning:

1. Replace the battery if the green LED no longer lights up after pressing the power button. Rinse the test probe with tap water after use.

2. In case of skin contact with brake fluid, rinse thoroughly with water any skin or clothing that has come into contact with the fluid.

3. Do not expose brake fluid to open air for extended periods, as it is highly hygroscopic!
