Managed to install it successfully on third attempt. The hinges come with an offset anchor point option to allow for positioning of the toilet seat to cover the entire bowl. When I tried using this offset option the so called rubber washers (actually plastic that do absolutely nothing to prevent the hinges from sliding about on the top of the bowl) which although they had an offset hole it did not align with the threaded alternate anchor point so had to slot the hole with a file. The result was a toilet seat that slid about when anyone sat on it. On the third attempt I utilised the the old hinge bolts as locating washers(they were of a larger diameter) that were profiled to centre in the underside of the bowl. In doing this it changed the position of the hinges slightly leaving me with 16 holes to fill in. Final result appears sound and working well. A much cheaper alternative to a completely new toilet seat.
