Description

General description

Ronseal Total Wood Preserver is a general-purpose preserver specially formulated to kill woodworm and prevent rot and decay. It is ideal for pre-treatment of both interior and exterior wood and is suitable for overpainting. This product is perfect for use on rough or smooth timber.

Installation

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from surface coatings such as paint, varnish, or stain.

For timbers suffering from decay, remove all decayed wood and replace it with sound, treated timber.

Cut out and burn all decayed wood at least 45cm beyond the area of damage.

Usage

Shake well before use.

Can be applied by brush, spray, or dipping. If applying by spray, use a coarse spray and avoid misting.

End grains should be treated by dipping for complete penetration.

Apply a minimum of 2 coats, covering all faces, sides, and joints, with particular attention to the end grain.

The second coat should be applied after 24 hours.

Once the second coat is dry, repairs and gluing can be carried out.

Avoid contact with bitumen, bitumen felt, mastics, and plastics.
