General description

This Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish provides a beautiful matt finish while enhancing and prolonging the natural beauty of wooden floors. It offers long-lasting protection against everyday knocks, scuffs, and spills, making it ideal for areas with heavy foot traffic. The varnish is suitable for both unvarnished and previously varnished floors and has a low odour, ensuring your home won't smell of varnish for days.

Installation

Ensure the room temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius.

Remove furniture and open doors and windows for ventilation.

For unvarnished floors, sand along the length of the floorboards with 120 grit sandpaper, or use a floor sander for quicker results.

Vacuum the dust and wipe the floor with white spirit.

For varnished floors, lightly sand with 120 grit sandpaper and vacuum before wiping down with white spirit.

Stir the varnish well and test the colour on a small patch.

Using a 4” brush, start applying the varnish from the corner furthest from the door, working along the length of two floorboards at a time.

Wait two hours for the first coat to dry before applying a second coat. For best results, apply three coats, lightly sanding with 240 grit sandpaper before the third coat.

Your floor will be ready to walk on in two hours, but wait 24 hours before replacing furniture.

Usage

After 72 hours, the floor can be vacuumed and swept without damage.

To maintain the finish, clean up dirt or grit promptly and use a damp microfiber cloth for surface stains and scuffs.

Brushes can be cleaned easily with warm soapy water.

If scratches or damage occur, apply three coats of varnish to the affected area or use a Scratch Repair Kit for easy fixes.
