General description

Liberon Natural Finish Floor Varnish is a hard-wearing, long-lasting varnish designed for both soft and hardwood flooring, as well as laminate surfaces. Its water-based, non-yellowing formula dries quickly and maintains the natural look and feel of the timber while providing excellent resistance to scratches and stains.

Installation

Prepare the surface by sanding if necessary and removing all previous finishes.

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and dust-free before application.

If coloring the wood, apply Liberon Palette Wood Dye before varnishing or mix it with the varnish (up to 100ml dye per 1L varnish).

Shake or stir the varnish well before use.

Apply a reasonable coat evenly using a paintbrush or short hair roller.

Allow to dry for a minimum of 2 hours before applying additional coats, with a recommendation of at least 3 coats for optimal durability.

Sanding lightly between coats may be required.

For heavy traffic areas, more coats may be necessary.

Allow the final coat to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before using the floor.

Usage

Wipe any spills immediately to maintain the finish.

For general maintenance, clean with a damp mop or cloth, using mild detergent if needed.

If wear is observed, reapply a coat of varnish or use Liberon Wood Floor Reviver.

Allow wood dyes to dry for at least 8 hours before applying the varnish.

Test the product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for color compatibility and final appearance.

Keep brush strokes to a minimum to avoid lifting the color.

Note that the varnish may raise the grain on some hardwoods and is not suitable for use over oil-based sealers.

Other information

Important: Do not exceed a 10% dilution of Natural Finish Floor Varnish with Liberon Palette Wood Dye.

Dispose of residues and washing water/solvents responsibly to avoid environmental discharge.

Libéron is a French brand of V33, the leading manufacturer of paints and stains mainly for wood. The group owns the V33, Cecil, Diamantine, Libéron and Plastor brands. It was founded in 1953 in Domblans (Jura). In the 15th century, the royal abbey of Saint-Antoine des Champs obtained a privilege exempting craftsmen from paying taxes when they set up shop on its land. The Seine also provided cabinetmakers in particular with access to their raw materials. Georges Libéron made a name for himself at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 with his antiseptic and parasiticide polish. One of its variations was the famous Oké paste. In 1990, V33 acquired the Libéron group, which specialised in cabinetmaking products and was the French leader in its field, having invented the legendary Black Bison wax, a decorative product for all surfaces. V33 and Libéron are very committed to protecting the environment: 50% of production is solvent-free, glycol ethers have been eliminated, and great care is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
