Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish in Antique Pine offers a stunning finish that enhances the natural beauty of your wooden floors while providing exceptional protection against everyday wear and tear. This tough varnish is designed to be non-yellowing, ensuring that the color remains vibrant for longer. With a low odour formula, it allows for a more pleasant application experience without lingering smells.

Installation

Before applying the varnish, ensure the room temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius. Remove all furniture and open doors and windows for ventilation. For unvarnished floors, sand along the length of the floorboards using 120 grit sandpaper, or use a floor sander for quicker results. After sanding, vacuum the dust and wipe the floor with white spirit. For previously varnished floors, lightly sand with 120 grit sandpaper and follow the same cleaning process.

Usage

Stir the varnish thoroughly and test the color on a small area. Using a 4” brush, start applying the varnish from the corner furthest from the door, working along the length of two floorboards at a time. Allow two hours for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. For optimal protection, three coats are recommended. Lightly sand with 240 grit sandpaper before the third coat, wipe with a damp cloth, and then apply. The floor will be ready for foot traffic in two hours, but wait 24 hours before replacing furniture. Full hardness is achieved after 72 hours.

Other information

Aftercare: The floor can be vacuumed and swept after 72 hours. For cleaning, use a damp microfiber cloth to remove dirt and stains.

Brush cleaning: Brushes can be cleaned easily with warm soapy water.

Repairs: For scratches or damage, apply three coats of varnish to the affected area or use the Scratch Repair Kit for easy fixes.
