Ronseal 15 Year Protection Direct to Metal Paint offers a tough and durable finish for metal surfaces. This paint requires minimal preparation, can be applied directly to rust, and does not need a primer, making it an ideal choice for both DIY enthusiasts and professionals.

Installation

Ensure the metal surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and grease.

For bare metal, remove loose rust or paint with a wire brush or 120 grit sandpaper.

For previously painted metal, lightly sand if the paint is in good condition; remove flaking paint with sandpaper or a wire brush.

Be cautious with surfaces painted before 1960, as they may contain lead paint.

Stir the paint thoroughly for 2 to 3 minutes before application.

Apply with a paintbrush, roller, or spray (dilute with about 10% water for spraying).

Allow 2 to 4 hours between coats, with touch dry in 30 minutes after the last coat.

Usage

For best results, follow the instructions on the tin for preparation, painting, and maintenance.

Check for imperfections annually and touch up with 2 coats of Direct to Metal Paint if needed.

Other information

Cleaning: Remove excess paint from brushes or rollers and wash in warm soapy water.
