General description

The Shire Arbour Garden Arch Seat is an extremely attractive hexagonal design reminiscent of a pagoda style, making it a perfect place to sit or dine. It is manufactured from high-grade, slow-grown, FSC approved northern European pine, which has been pressure treated to protect it from rot and insect attack for many years. Supplied in its natural pressure treated finish, the arbour can still be painted or stained to suit your garden.

The product is good apart from afew home adjustments. As the roof is only attached with minimum screws we implemented mental hinges to make the roof more secure to the main body. Not fullproof on fitting definitely not water tight we have added extra wood struts to secure the roof panels to the roof frame.

Overall I am happy with the arbour. It looks as good as the picture on line and feels sturdy because of the quality of the wood used. It was relatively easy to erect even on my own. It's good value for money too. However I am disappointed with the standard of finish on some of the components. A couple of the roof trusses were poorly cut out as were the trims around the bottom of the roof. Some planing and sanding will fix that.

The painting was a bit of a fiddle getting into all the joints on panels and roof . This would have been faster with a sprayer rather than a brush .

Pergola or gazebo: which is right for your garden?

Gazebos and pergolas are outdoor structures designed to provide shade and add a decorative touch to your garden or terrace. Crafted from aluminium, wrought iron or wood, pergolas make beautiful centrepieces while gazebos have a more functional purpose as reception tents or shelters for al fresco dining areas.
