A screw is a simple and often basic element. But it is the key element of any lasting and reliable fastening. It is therefore very important to make your choice of screw with patience and attention.
First, choose the type of head. Depending on the application you want to make, the type of head is very important. For example, you can find countersunk head screws, very practical because they are flush with the screwed surface and allow for a clean screwing. There are also rounded head screws that have a quite attractive aesthetic and decorative side, you can find classic and wide round ones or even hexagonal ones that provide better tightening torque.
The second selection criterion for a screw is the drive of its head, this affects the efficiency of your screwing, the speed and power of the tightening. For example, you can use a Phillips cross drive (PH) which provides good holding and rejects the screwing bit at the end of tightening, very useful when you want to limit the tightening torque. The Pozidriv cross drive (PZ) provides additional lateral holding. The square recess (CC) and hexagonal (HC) drives allow better containment and distribution of the force generated by the bit or screwing tool, the drive is thus better maintained and allows for much tighter tightening. Finally, there is the Torx drive, the little favorite of professionals, which offers excellent holding and very good tightening torque.
Finally, choosing a screw is not so easy. Here, the self-drilling screws allow you to perform tasks such as fastening a metal part to wood or other similar tasks. The self-drilling tip of the tool eliminates the need for a drill and saves a lot of time, especially for series screwing.
