The detector should emit a 512 Hz signal, and the receiver can determine the approximate depth of the target. Start by turning on the receiver, then move around while holding it at waist height. Then move toward the transmitter while performing a slow sweep backwards with the receiver, still pointing it toward the transmitter. You will notice that the signal intensifies. As you get closer, adjust the sensitivity as necessary to stay within detection range. When the indicator can no longer remain below its maximum value, switch to “near” mode and continue moving in the direction of the strongest signal.When you reach the point where the signal appears strongest, moving in one direction will weaken it; you will then know that the detector is directly under the antenna mast. Move to another location, look for that peak signal again, and see if you keep coming back to the same location for confirmation. If you do each step correctly, you should consistently find yourself right above the transmitter. Practice until you get consistent results. This product does not include a transmitter and requires a 512 Hz transmitter for use.
