Zipper ZI-HB204 204mm x 120mm Planer & Thicknesser

machine not used much yet but a priori the first impression is good and corresponds to my expectations. a negative point: the very brief instructions ex: it is recommended a cleaning and lubrication maintenance without specifying how and where to access it

This entry-level planer/jointer does its job very well. Even if I have so far only worked with soft wood (pallet boards), the final result is excellent. Not even need to sand (obviously the irons are new). The planer drive speed is fine. Quite fast, but not too much. So there is no trace of the machining step. A big plus for the finish. The passage height settings of the plane seem not to move with use, but you should not be too pretentious about the thickness to be removed (1.5mm seems good). Jointer side; the settings of the side guide should be checked after each replacement of it, but nothing too bad with a small square. If the height adjustment of the planer must be light, that of the jointer requires more revolutions for better bite. The extractor hood gave me a joke on first use. One of the two spindles Overall, it's a nice little machine to have fun as an individual, but also a pro on site for small adjustments.

I already have Zipper products and once again, I am not disappointed. The planer is stylish and robust! It comes with 1 set of spare irons and an extra belt. The table is protected by side reinforcements for transport so as not to sail it. After a few adjustments (necessary for all these tools), I was able to start working and the result is great!

Tested on pallets, impeccable result to see on harder wood. But in my opinion will do the job.

Very good material for beginners. Efficient.
