Central vacuum kits
2 productsThe vacuum unit is also known as centralized vacuuming, central vacuum, or central vacuum cleaner. This cleaning system proves to be practical and space-saving. Simply connect the flexible hose to an inlet to vacuum dust or any other dirt.
The central vacuum is generally delivered in a package. Thus, the complete kit includes:
- a vacuum unit;
- a network of distribution pipes to be concealed inside the walls;
- a wall mounting system;
- various accessories (nozzle, wand, and brush);
- two or three vacuum inlets;
- angle elbows and connectors.
Some units are equipped with a crumb catcher inlet allowing you to vacuum dust or crumbs without using a hose. Simply install the device on a skirting board in the kitchen or bathroom. Moreover, the vacuum inlets can be:
- equipped with a start switch;
- sound-detecting;
- activated by a vibration created when the user moves the hose.
The vacuum unit is equipped with a tank or a bag to store the dirt. These devices should be installed in the garage, laundry room, or even the basement.
The ideal central vacuum depends on the surface area of the home and the type of floor to be cleaned. Therefore, three criteria should be considered when purchasing. The flow rate, expressed in m3/h or dm3/s, corresponds to the device's capacity to convey dust to the tank. Here are the values to prioritize according to the type of floor to be cleaned:
- smooth: 36 dm3/s;
- hard: 40 dm3/s.
The useful power, measured in Watts, determines the overall performance of the central vacuum. Finally, the depression (in mmH2O or kPa) measures the force lifting the dust. The standard level is between 20 and 35 kPa for a smooth floor, and 40 kPa for a hard floor.
Finally, for optimal comfort, one should not neglect the noise level of the vacuum cleaner.
