The rails for sliding doors and garage doors refer to both "U"-shaped rails (to be installed in the ground), tubular rails (which will support the installation), and "V"-shaped or round rails. To set up a sliding system, you need a tubular rail to house the bracket and a guide for a perfect opening. If the gate is outside, you'll need a "V"-shaped or round rail.
The garage door rails, sliding doors, or gates of this category each have a different utility.
We designate them by their profile; here, we have 4 types of rails for 4 types of profiles. The profiles are "tubular", "U", "V" and "round".
Tubular profiles are used to slide the gate mounting, and the two products are compatible by their sizes. This type of rail is fixed with rail brackets and rail supports; when visible, it is not very aesthetic, so it is recommended to conceal them within partitions where the rail might be obtrusive if exposed. They can support loads of more than 300Kg and must therefore be well-secured. For curved side-opening installations, curved tubular profile rails should be used.
"U" profiles are placed in the ground and will house the guides. These guides provide stability and smooth sliding for the sliding doors, so it is essential to position them correctly so that the door remains straight.
"V" profiles. Generally, they are screwed into the concrete between two gate pillars. They are used for gates equipped with wheels that match the "V" shape in question.
In some cases, gate wheels are designed to fit a round shape, which is where a round profile is needed.
"U" rails are easy to maintain and discreet, unlike "V" or round profile rails, which are not used indoors as they are obtrusive.
