Description

General description

SmartSeal Block Paving Sealer is a solvent-based acrylic sealer designed to enhance the appearance and longevity of block paving and flagstones. It provides a natural-looking matt finish while combating staining and weed growth. This sealer increases abrasion resistance, protects jointing sand from erosion, and creates a barrier against contaminants, making maintenance easier.

Coverage: First coat: 2.0 sq metres per litre; Second coat: 3.5 sq metres per litre

Application rate: 2.5 m² per litre for the first coat; 3.5 m² per litre for the second coat

Tack-free time: 2 hours at 20°C

Foot traffic: Permitted after 4 hours

Vehicle traffic: Minimum 24 hours at 20°C

Temperature range for application: 12 - 23°C

Flash point: 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup)

Installation

Ensure paving is pressure washed to remove all debris.

Allow paving to dry for 3-4 clear and dry days.

Brush kiln-dried sand into all joints before sealing.

Apply 2 coats of Block Paving Sealer using a roller or sprayer, allowing 2-3 hours between coats.

Allow 24 hours for the sealer to completely cure.

Usage

Protects against loss of color due to UV light.

Resists oil and stain penetration.

Inhibits weed and algae growth.

Expected protection duration: 3-5 years, depending on traffic, weather, and maintenance.

Other information

Not suitable for clay pavers.

For areas contaminated with weeds or moss, treat with Smartseal Fungicidal Wash.

Oil and stains should be removed with Smartseal Cleaner/Oil Remover.

Moisture in the paver and sand can inhibit sealer penetration.

Health & Safety: Flammable liquid; keep the application area well-ventilated and wear a respirator during application.
