This Hammerite Smooth Direct To Rust Metal Paint is a versatile solution that can be applied directly onto rusty surfaces, serving as a primer, undercoat, and topcoat in one step. It provides long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The paint forms a durable barrier that seals out moisture and prevents further rust formation, ensuring a smooth and protective finish.

Installation

Preparation: Remove loose rust, flaking paint, dirt, dust, and grease

Abrade smooth surfaces if necessary

Test: Apply a small test patch and wait 1 hour to check for reactions

Usage

Apply in temperatures between 8°C and 25°C for optimal results

Ensure all edges and corners are adequately covered

For brush application, do not thin the paint

For spray application, thin with Thinners at 15% and set the spray gun at 25-35 psi, applying four thin coats with 1-hour intervals

Clean brushes and spray equipment with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners after use

Other information

Do not mix with other paints or colors from different tins

Take precautions to avoid inhaling dust during surface preparation, especially on older paint surfaces that may contain lead
