Description

General description

Owatrol Oil is a versatile, highly penetrating air-drying oil that can be used alone or added to paint. As a rust inhibitor, it provides a tough, flexible finish by driving out excess moisture and air, effectively stopping rust on metal surfaces. When applied to porous wood, it saturates and protects against moisture damage, preventing paint from peeling. Additionally, when used as a paint conditioner for oil or alkyd-based coatings, it enhances wet edge time, improves flow, and increases adhesion without compromising the paint's quality or appearance.

Usage

Apply as a rust inhibitor on metal surfaces to prevent rust formation.

Use on porous wood to protect against moisture damage.

Add to oil or alkyd-based paints to improve flow and adhesion.

Application tools: Brush, Roller, Airless or HVLP sprayer, Garden sprayer, pump sprayer.

Cover areas not intended for painting.

Test for compatibility when mixing with paint.

Other information

Do not mix or overcoat with paints containing hot solvents (e.g., Xylene, 2-part coatings, chlorinated rubber).

Do not use as a paint conditioner in water-based paints; use Floetrol instead.

Clean tools and equipment with white spirits while still wet; if dried, remove with paint stripper.

Store and maintain equipment as directed by the manufacturer.
