Américaine de Construction d'Outillage à Main" was founded in Paris in 1918 by an engineer, Louis Mosés. This entrepreneur manufactured a spanner, the "Lachèze", specially curved for laying railway tracks. Mosés named it "Key 101". FACOM diversified into hand tools, industrial maintenance, car repairs and aeronautics. It employs 370 people and has a turnover in excess of €150 million. It manufactures all kinds of tools, including Torx, flat, multi-socket, chain and ratchet spanners - its core business - as well as impact spanners and sockets, screwdrivers, jacks and even power tools.
