General description

Shear nuts, also known as breakaway nuts, inviolable nuts, snap off nuts, security nuts, tamper proof nuts, or permacone nuts, are a permanent security solution ideal for applications where maintenance is not required. They are designed to prevent unauthorized tampering or removal of equipment and facilities, making them suitable for use in public areas such as schools and hospitals, as well as within the fencing industry for security perimeter fencing.

    • Installation

    To install, the shear nut is tightened using a standard spanner or socket. The hexagon nut section is fully tightened until the pressure applied exceeds the maximum torque limit, causing the hexagonal part of the nut to break off, leaving a tamper-resistant cone shape that is extremely difficult to remove.
