For GM vehicles equipped with a 315 or 433 MHz Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system, a "Sensor Relearn Procedure" must be performed after tire rotation, remote door lock receiver module replacement, or tire pressure sensor replacement. The procedure can be performed using special tool EL-50448. Also works on 2014 GM models.

The tire pressure sensor on 2012 and later models can be read, only with certain specified diagnostic tools.

Before the tire pressure monitoring system can normally operate properly, the body control module will record the identification information of each position in the tire pressure sensor and use the following methods to read the tire pressure sensor after replacing a tire or wheel speed sensor; specific methods as follows:

EL-50448 Instructions:

EL50448 works on all General Motors products (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC) manufactured for the North American market. It will not work if you purchased aftermarket sensors that do not fit most types of GM vehicles equipped with a 315 or 433 MHz Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) system. This relearn procedure can be performed using the special tool EL-50448.

How to Use EL 50448 TPMS Activation Tool

Step 1 - Enter Learning Mode

Put the gear lever in "P"

Turn the ignition switch to "ON"

Enter the tire pressure display interface by DIC

The DIC displays "Press Set/Ctrl to relearn"

Press "Set/Ctrl"

The turn signal is on for 3 seconds and the beep sound is heard twice to enter the learning mode

Step 2 - Read the tire pressure sensor information

Start with the left front wheel,

Place the J-46079 antenna or EL-50448 diagnostic tool against the valve core position and close to the edge of the tire sidewall.

The El-50448 tire pressure tool starts by the ignition switch

Successfully read the tire pressure sensor information when the horn sounds once times

Step 3 - Same method to read other tire pressure information

Follow the above instructions to read the tire pressure of the right front, right rear and left rear wheels.

The turn signals will be on for 3 seconds and the horn will chirp twice when the learning is complete.

For some vehicles equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPM), a "sensor relearn procedure" must be performed after rotating the tires, replacing the remote door lock receiver module or replacing the tire pressure sensor. This relearn procedure can be performed. using special tool 50448
