Description

General description

Osmo Wood Wax Finish Satin in Silk Grey offers all-round protection for interior wood surfaces. This product allows the wood grain to remain visible with transparent tones, while intensive tones can hide the grain. It is highly durable, water and dirt resistant, and can withstand common liquid spillages such as water, juice, tea, cola, and wine. Additionally, it is saliva-resistant and sweatproof, making it suitable for children's toys. The microporous, breathable finish does not crack, peel, or flake, and no sanding is necessary for spot repairs or future applications.

Installation

Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and frost-free.

Remove old microporous stains thoroughly and completely strip old paints and lacquers.

Fill small cracks and larger joints or holes with Osmo Wood Filler.

Sand the wood surface carefully, starting with coarse sandpaper; final sanding for flooring should be P120-150 and for furniture P220-240.

Remove sanding dust before applying the finish.

If possible, apply the first coat to all sides before installation.

Usage

For transparent color (one coat): Use Osmo Flat Brush, Oil Finish Applicator Fleece, or Microfibre Roller to apply very thinly along the wood grain.

For a subtle stained effect, apply thinly with a lint-free cloth and wipe away within 20 minutes.

For intensive color (two coats): Apply thinly with Osmo Flat Brush or Microfibre Roller, allowing the second coat to dry before applying.

For mechanically loaded areas like flooring, it is recommended to use a maximum of one coat and a thin top coat with clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original.

For white flooring, use a top coat with lightly white pigmented Osmo Polyx®-Oil Tints 3040 White.

Choose color tones that match or complement the natural tone of the wood.

Other information

Regular cleaning: Dust mop with the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors.

Damp mop using Osmo Wash and Care or Osmo Spray-Mop.

Occasional maintenance: Use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner or Osmo Maintenance Oil for intensive cleaning and refreshing.

Recoating: Reapply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.
