Description

General description

Owaphos is a rust remover and passivator designed for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as galvanised and zinc-coated surfaces. It effectively prepares new metal surfaces for painting by creating a fine coat of oxide that enhances adhesion, eliminating the need for sanding.

Technical specifications

Volume: 1 Litre

Coverage: 10 to 12 m² (107 to 129 ft²) per litre

Application temperature: Between 5°C (41°F) and 30°C (86°F)

Installation

Surface must be clean, dry, and free of oil, grease, and other contaminants.

Clean the surface with Pura-Trol, Soapclean, or a suitable solvent (e.g., Acetone) and allow it to dry.

Usage

For new metal surfaces: Apply undiluted Owaphos and allow it to work for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

For rust removal: Dilute Owaphos as follows: Light Rust: 1 part Owaphos to 3 parts water; General Rust: 1 part Owaphos to 1 part water. Apply and allow to work for 15 to 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

After treatment, apply PID 60 on ferrous metals within 8 hours or Polytrol on non-ferrous metals to prevent corrosion.

Other information

Wear chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing during application.

Clean all tools and equipment with soap and water immediately after use.

In case of spills on sensitive surfaces, rinse thoroughly with water.

Always test on a small inconspicuous area first.

Do not apply in direct sunlight or to hot surfaces.

Store in the original container and keep from freezing and high temperatures.
