Ronseal Exterior Yacht Varnish Satin is a professional high-quality solvent-based varnish designed to provide superior, long-lasting protection for exterior wood. This varnish features a satin finish and comes in a re-sealable tin, making it convenient for storage and application. Installation

Ensure the wood is dry before application.

Choose a warm, dry day (above 10°C) for best results.

Remove old stain or varnish by sanding with 120 grit sandpaper.

Wipe the surface with white spirit to remove dust.

Stir the varnish thoroughly before use.

Test on a small patch to check for color darkening.

Apply with a brush in the direction of the grain.

For best results, apply two to three coats, waiting eight hours between coats.

Lightly sand the surface before the final coat and clean with white spirit.

Usage

Ideal for smooth exterior wood surfaces such as doors and windows.

After drying, clean the varnished surface as normal.

Brushes can be cleaned with white spirit or brush cleaner.

For repairs, sand down damaged areas and reapply a couple of coats.

As good as specialist yacht varnish provided you wait a full day between coats and a full week for the final coat to harden. I use wet 320 between coats. It does add a colour despite being called clear. It's fine on okume iroko and cedar (nice golden hue) . It's easy to wet out too and less than 50% of the cost of others.
