Description

• Ronseal Super Flexible Wood Primer & Undercoat is designed to improve the adhesion and durability of exterior and interior wood finishes. It moves with the wood to prevent cracking and peeling of the topcoat. It combines priming and undercoating in one product, providing an excellent base for any topcoat. The primer features an advanced stain locking mechanism that blocks tannins and extractives from resinous woods, preventing discoloration. Suitable for priming hardwoods such as Mahogany, Oak, and Teak, as well as exterior wooden doors, window frames, cladding, and fascias. Available in white for lighter colors and grey for darker shades.

Compatibility and Accessories

Installation

• Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or dirt.
• Lightly sand the surface with 120 grit sandpaper, following the woodgrain.
• Wipe the surface with a cloth soaked in white spirit to remove dust.
• If necessary, fill imperfections with suitable wood filler and sand smooth.
• Stir the primer thoroughly before use.
• Apply two coats of primer, allowing approximately 4 hours drying time between coats.
• Lightly sand with 240 grit sandpaper after the second coat for a smooth finish before painting.

Usage

• Apply with a synthetic brush in the direction of the woodgrain.
• Allow each coat to dry for about 2 hours before applying the next.
• Once the second coat is dry, the surface is ready for painting.
• Clean brushes with warm soapy water after use.
