Ronseal Ultra Tough Clear Satincoat is an ultra-strong polyurethane varnish that gives interior wood a clear, mellow satin finish ideal for use over wood dyes. It provides long-lasting protection against heat, water, scratches, knocks and most household chemicals, and is suitable for bare or previously treated wood. Apply by brush; dries in 2-4 hours and covers approximately 24 m² per litre. Supplied in a 2.5 litre tin for use on furniture, doors, skirting, shelving, cork, hardboard and chipboard.

if you are looking for a hard lasting varnish this is the one you need. I sanded down my work top and applied several coats of this varnish, you have to be patient and let the varnish dry before applying a 2nd coat. It is well worth the wait this is the 4th tin I have bought. love it.
Am very happy with this Non drip hope it says white for years
This is a standard product, but quite difficult to find in local DIY stores, hence the need to order online.
